Welcome to the Wychbury Guitars. I have been working with fine woods for over 30 years and now create finely tuned acoustic instruments. Tuning the soundboards, braces and tone bars to concert pitch (A at 440Hz). The guitars are french polished which is traditional and the best finish to allow the guitar to vibrate freely.

Taking the best practices from the great luthier masters and innovating with research and craftsmanship. My guitars are built using some of the most tried and tested techniques. All my guitars feature top grade, hand selected Master Quality Tonewoods and can be constructed with the individual in mind.

The tone woods index shows the wood before any work.

Choice of Tonewoods.

The soundboard is the most crucial element to a guitar's sound so the choice of wood must be right for your desired sound. The neck, back, sides and fret board all contribute to the tone and resonance.

Size and Shape.

I can make any size acoustic you would like. The traditional overall shape is very popular for good reason because it works so well. I can advise you on any special custom body shape you would like.

Construction.

I bow the soundboard to a 40ft radius and the back to a radius of 15ft. The head of the neck is designed to be stronger than a standard neck and to transmit more of the energy of the strings to the bridge.

Finishing.

The guitars are french polished which is traditional and the best finish to allow the guitar to vibrate freely. I can use all types of decoration to personlise your guitar.
